Citizens urged to pray for parliamentarians

"This day is very important ,it's where we come together as nation and celebrate who were are we South Africans. We are reminded about our roots"

BARBERTON – “We need to unite and show respect to each other regardless of your grace, gender or religion because we are all the images of God .


Today what is happening in parliament is a disgrace our leaders are arguing or fighting because they have lose respect for each other ,we need to pray for them.


If we are able to unity as different race or tribes and celebrate the Heritage Day why our leaders are not able to work with peace in parliament? “ asked Pastor Thomas Gama during the celebration of Heritage Day that was held at Barberton Farm Prison Centre.


Gama called upon the citizens of this country to pray for leaders so that the nation may live in peace .

 

“Parliamentarians are not angels, they are human beings they need God guidance each and every day too. I think the Heritage day was made to be celebrated to show that we can all pray for our leaders including politicians, kings and traditional leaders, as they are part of our heritage “he added.

Gama added that such days should not be taken for granted because it offers a chance to go deeper in terms of understanding about other tribes or culture and also to remind people about “Ubuntu”.

Ms Thuli Matsebula from Umjindi Tribal Authority encourage people not to be ashamed of their origins,

We are reminded about our roots which play a very important role on morals and ‘Ubuntu’ “she explained.


During the celebration people were given an opportunity to express themselves by speaking their mother tongue’s and showing their traditional dance moves.
