The National Lotteries Commission (NLC) has announced that they will no longer accept applications for the Miscellaneous Sector for this year.
NLC Commissioner Ms Charlotte Mampane says that due to the high number of applications received in the 2015 financial year, funds for this particular category have been exhausted.
The NLC allocates funds to sectors including Arts, Culture and Heritage, Charities and Sport and Recreation which among them share 98% of the overall budget for distribution of funds.
The Miscellaneous Sector is the smallest, and receives 2% of the budget, and caters for organisations which do not fall under any of the identified sectors.
Unlike the other sectors, the Miscellaneous Sector does not issue a call, but accepts applications at any time.
“I would like to encourage those organisations that had intentions to apply to hold off until applications are opened again in our next financial year. We are committed to assist as many organisations as possible and would like to reassure the associated parties involved, that your efforts and needs are not unnoticed,” says Mampane.
Applications remain open in the Charities and Sport and Recreation Sector with closing dates between 12 and 30 November 2015.
