The fixture is scheduled for this Sunday at the Parow Park Stadium at 15:30.
Tingwenyama’s boss, S’khumbuzo Mathebula said he was happy with his team’s performance over the past year.
“Our log standing says it all. We had such a great year, but we are not going to hold on to the past. We need to focus on now and the future and I am certain that the entire team is ready to continue the good form we have seen in the past,” said Mathebula.
United are currently on position three after 13 games with 24 points. They are tied on points with Cape Town All Stars who are on position four.
Tingwenyama are trailing another home-based team, Witbank Spurs of eMalahleni who are sited on position two with 26 points. On top of the NFD table are the Limpopo-based Baroka FC with 28 points.
On December 20, Vasco Da Gama played to a one-all draw against Cape Town All Stars while Mbombela United recorded an impressive win against AmaZulu in Durban.
“This weekend’s fixtures are crucial for the top five teams. The championship race is still wide open for most of the teams and we are determined to climb to the top of the table but as always, we are focusing on each match as it comes.
We are going to Cape Town for a victory and collect all three points. We are really not concerned about outcomes of other matches, because we know if we are to go all the way, we will need to concentrate on winning our own games,” said United’s spokesperson, Sostern Gutsa.
Returning from this assignment in Cape Town, Tingwenyama will then host Santos at the KaNyamazane Stadium on January 17 at 15:30.
On January 24, they travel to Durban to face Royal Eagles at the King Zwelithini Stadium.
They then follow up with a tough one on January 31 against Black Leopards at the KaNyamazane Stadium.
