MBOMBELA- The provincial department of education has set aside R104m to help students who need bursaries in the province this year.

The bursaries would assist students who are already in the bursary scheme and doing their first, second, and third years of study. “The bursary would cover the student’s tuition fees, accommodation, stationery, meals, and monthly pocket money,”explained Jasper Zwane spokesperson for the department. The department’s MEC Reginah Mhaule has warned bursary recipients against wasting the money but should work hard and be focused in their school work.

The department received 11 000 applications this year.
