Suspected Nyaope dealer busted

A man suspected of supplying school learners with Nyaope was arrested just a few metres away from Wem Private School on Tuesday.

KABOKWENI – A man suspected of supplying school learners with Nyaope was arrested just a few metres away from Wem Private School on Tuesday.

The arrest comes after local police raided two local schools in the area as part of their school safety operation.

After the raid, the police spotted the suspect sitting under a tree and upon searching him they seized Nyaope wrapped in a newspaper.

The suspect then fled the scene and the police gave chase and he was apprehended and taken to the police station.

“We are going to clean the streets of men who corrupt school children by feeding them with drugs,” warned Capt Shirley Ngomane.
