Tavern boss arrested for hiding criminals
The angry residents were accusing the suspect of hiding notorious criminals at his tavern. According to the police, after searching the tavern, they seized pistols and empty cartridges.

PHOLA – A local tavern owner was arrested and later released on R 2 000 bail on Tuesday. His arrest comes after the police together with crime prevention members heeded to the community members’ cries and raided the tavern.
The angry residents were accusing the suspect of hiding notorious criminals at his tavern. According to the police, after searching the tavern, they seized pistols and empty cartridges.
“The suspect was charged with possession of firearms.
“We applaud the community for working together with us instead of taking the law into their hands. We welcome any information and tip-offs that may assist us in achieving a crime free society,” said Const Naniki Masoyi.
