MTN ploughs back to community

Ms Maria Muhari, the centre founder, couldn’t contain her excitement and said investing in the youth of the country was the best investment ever.

BHUGA – The 67 minutes of Mandela month came early for Hlayisani Centre of Hope.
This comes after the centre was presented with 22 brand new computers by MTN, in conjunction with the Department of Social Development.

The deputy minister for the department of Social Development, Ms Hendrietta Bogopane-Zulu says government feels compelled to deliver Information Communication Technology to rural and impoverished areas.

To start off Mandela Month, 100 youth from the community with a team of employees from Coca Cola Beverages, painted the centre’s building and children’s facilities.

Ms Maria Muhari ,the centre founder , couldn’t contain her excitement and said investing in the youth of the country was the best investment ever.

“The computer lab will go a long way in providing much-needed computer skills for the youth of this area,” she said.
Her centre is a home for abused youth of the area. It also serves as an early childhood facility for children and provides safety for abused women, helping them to get the services they need from different government departments.
