Elders receives houses for Mandela
Mkhatshwa who survives on her pension fund said that it had never crossed her mind that one day she would own a descent house.
MBOMBELA- Three families from the Nkomazi Local Municipality received fully furnished, newly built houses courtesy of the Department of Human Settlements and business community as part celebrating Mandela Month.
One of the beneficiaries an 86-year old gogo Emma Mkhatshwa who had lived a better part of her life in a one room house expressed her excitement as she was to be led into her new house.
Mkhatshwa who survives on her pension fund said that it had never crossed her mind that one day she would own a descent house. “I am excited to be among the beneficiaries. I have been longing for a moment like this for
years now, I thank God for this day. I thank the good teachings and the spirit of Ubuntu Tata Mandela taught you”, exclaimed the excited Mkhatshwa.
