Six suspects still at large

After this matter was reported to the police, members of the Relief C acted swiftly and they managed to find the vehicle along Steenbok mountains before crossing over to Mozambique, but the suspects were already gone.

TONGA – Local police are looking for six suspects who broke into a 62-year-old man’s house at Nhlalakahle on Tuesday morning.

Mpumalanga News learnt that the victim was asleep when suddenly he saw the unknown men in his bedroom and one of the suspects was armed.

According to information at the police’s disposal, the suspects tied the victim and his wife with clothes and ransacked the house.

They took four cell phones and undisclosed amount of cash, they went further and demanded car keys from the victims and they fled the scene with the victim’s Toyota.

After this matter was reported to the police, members of the Relief C acted swiftly and they managed to find the vehicle along Steenbok mountains before crossing over to Mozambique, but the suspects were already gone.

Meanwhile, the station commander, Brig Velisiwe Mdaka extended her gratitude to the members for acting swiftly. She also encouraged the community to report crime immediately as makes it easy for the police to perform their duties.
