Social grants to increase in April

In the previous financial year the social grants for both the old age and people with disabilities was R1 510, but will increase to R1 600 this year.

MBOMBELA – Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has announced increases to social grants this year.

Delivering his budget speech in Parliament on Wednesday,  Gordhan said that a R90 increase will be added to old age pensioners- and people living with disability’s grants.

Gordhan announced that foster care grants will increase by R30 to R920 per month, while the child support grant with an increase of R20 to R380 per month.

In the previous financial year the social grants for both the old age and people with disabilities was R1 510, but will increase to R1 600 this year.
