Grants won’t be available in old white SASSA cards from next year

The agency said from January 2019 grants won’t be available in the old white SASSA cards.

The South Africa Social Security Agency (Sassa) has appealed to social grant recipients who still use the old card to apply for the new gold SASSA card.

“To make sure you get your January grants you must get the new gold SASSA cards before 14 December 2018 or provide your personal bank account details to SASSA, through completion of the relevant form. The deadline won’t be extended. Take your ID and old card to any SASSA or Post Office to get your new gold SASSA card without delay,” said the social agency in a statement.
