A 35-year-old man arrested in connection with the alleged rape of his 20-month-old child briefly appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

He was remanded in custody and the matter postponed to July 2 for further investigation.

Brig Leonard Hlathi, spokesperson for the police, said, “The matter was immediately reported to the police, who swiftly arrested the man.”

Hlathi called for men to protect women and children.
