Department of Education extends contracts of temporary teachers
The Mpumalanga Department of Education has confirmed that the contracts of temporary teachers that had expired on December 31 have been extended. The extension will be effected from January 1 to March 31 this year.
The department said this means that payments of their salaries will be accordingly processed along with payments for January, and subsequently two months thereafter.

“This contract extension is in keeping with the presentation made by the department in the Mpumalanga Provincial Education Labour Relations Council Chamber meeting of December 8,” said MEC for education, Bonakele Majuba.
