Thuli Mnisi visited the clinic yesterday, and told Mpumalanga News she had to walk back home without having received her chronic medication after hours of waiting outside.

“I am now forced to go to the faraway clinic, yet there is a clinic here. The nurses were also sitting outside. They allege the facility was dirty and a bad odour came from the maternity ward. We don’t know why the government is not hiring enough people to clean the clinic so that it can continue to operate the way it used to,” she said.

The Department of Health had not responded to a media inquiry by the time of posting this.
