“The police couldn’t state the exact place where she had been kept. She alleged she had been kept in an RDP house in Zwelisha, but she was found at an Indian shop in Newskom.
She kept confusing herself and she literally cried, begging the police not to open the case. It is exasperating that teenage girls give us attitude at times, and it becomes difficult to work with them. That girl screamed such that her granny suggested that maybe she had not been kidnapped, but was with her boyfriend and was afraid to return home,” said Capt Shirley Nsimba, spokesperson for the KaBokweni police.

The news of the missing teen started circulating on social media on April 6. She had apparently escaped from her alleged kidnappers two days after.
