Case of child neglect registered against grieving mothers

The police at Masoyi Police Station have opened a case of child neglect against the two siblings whose children recently burned to death in Jerusalem.

Sgt Naniki Nonyane, spokesperson for the Masoyi police, confirmed this. “A case of child neglect had been registered at Masoyi Police Station and the matter had been handed to the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit for a decision. No arrest has been made so far regarding the death of the children.

The police investigation is still under way.”

The two cousins, Noxolo Mlotshwa (7) and Mandisa Maseko (9), tragically lost their lives when the RDP house in which they were sleeping went up in flames on April 17. The cause of the fire is still unknown
