While the meeting was in progress a scuffle broke out among attendees resulting in the suspect allegedly stabbing another man.
The victim was then taken to hospital for treatment where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police were then notified about the stabbing incident, leading to the arrest of the 43-year-old man.

“The police management in Mpumalanga strongly condemns this incident and makes a clarion call to members of the public to desist from using violence to resolve conflicts and disagreements. One can never achieve anything good through violence instead violent actions often breed devastating consequences such as the loss of life,” said Maj Gen Thulani Phahla, the acting provincial commissioner of the South African Police Service in Mpumalanga.

The Mpumalanga Department of Education condemned this incident of violence and will deploy officials to the school on Monday to get more information on the circumstances that led to it.
