Man hit and killed by car in Riverside
A man was hit by a light motor vehicle this morning (October 11) and succumbed to his injuries on scene.
When ER24 and other services arrived at the accident scene on the R40 in Riverside they found a man lying in the road.
According to Russel Meiring, the spokesperson for ER24, the emergency services arrived at 07:24. The light motor vehicle that had hit the man was parked a short distance away.

“Medics assessed the man and found that he had already succumbed to his many injuries. Nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.
“The female driver of the vehicle was found to have suffered minor injuries. She was treated and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.
“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” said Meiring.
