Police hunt 15 armed robbery suspects after ATM bombing in Acornhoek

About 15 armed suspects went to an ATM, detonated some explosives and stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

The Acornhoek police are investigating a case of robbery following an incident at the Acornhoek Old Complex near Bushbuckridge on Wednesday November 3 at about 02:00.

According to a police spokesperson, Brig Selvy Mohlala, a security guard was on duty when he noticed a group of about 15 armed suspects going to an ATM, detonating some explosives and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash. They fled the scene in two vehicles, a Toyota Camry and a VW Golf.

“No one has been arrested yet and the SAPS urges anyone with information that can assist the investigation, such as the whereabouts of the suspects, to immediately contact Det Lt Col Albert Manzini on 082 318 9925. Alternatively, members of the public can call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or send information via the My SAPS app,” said Mohlala.
