New fleet set to boost service delivery
The Thaba Chweu Local Municipality (TCLM) has acquired a fleet of seven new vehicles to ensure it enhances service delivery to residents.
The vehicles were received by the executive mayor, Friddah Nkadimeng, municipal manager Sphiwe Matsi, and other councilors on Friday October 29.
The fleet consists of three water tankers, a refuse removal compactor truck, and three light commercial vehicles.
The vehicles will also be used for waste collection, patrolling landfill sites, and the transportation of employees to various sites throughout Sabie, Graskop, and Lydenburg.

The executive mayor, Friddah Nkadimeng, said the vehicles were purchased so that the municipality could continue to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
“We are aware that there has been a backlog and these vehicles will assist us with service delivery throughout the whole TCLM. There have been challenges and we are overjoyed that these long-awaited new vehicles have arrived,” said Nkadimeng.
After the official handover, the fleet drove through the streets of Mashishing to share the news of its arrival with residents. TCLM’s spokesperson, Themba Sibiya, said the fleet was to ensure optimal operations at specific prioritised service delivery departments.
