Police have arrested three suspects aged 24, 35 and 45 for double murder on Sunday, January 9 in Mkhondo.

According to a police statement, it is alleged that the suspects shot and killed an elderly couple (66 years and 63 years old).

“The same suspects on December 16, 2021, robbed a victim at Susana Farm in Piet Retief and stole items to the value of R55 200. The third suspect on the group was found at KwaMsane Police station arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm,” the statement reads.

All three suspects have already appeared at the Mkhondo Magistrate’s court and their case was postponed to January 17.
