Disaster management event hosted by Ehlanzeni in Lydenburg

Several municipal and government services were highlighted.

On Wednesday October 5, the Ehlanzeni District Municipality hosted a disaster awareness campaign in Skhila.
The aim of the campaign was to introduce Skhila residents to departments that will play a role in the event of a disaster.

There have been numerous house fires in Skhila area over the past few months.

Thaba Chweu Emergency Fire Services have played a vital role in assisting during these fires.

Friddah Nkadimeng, executive mayor TCLM, thanked Ehlanzeni for hosting the event.

“It is important for our people to see who is working behind the scene when a disaster strikes,” she said.

Working on Fire discussed fire prevention methods and issued the rules and regulations in regard to this.

Ehlanzeni also arranged for other departments to inform the attendees about the different government programmes.

The Department of Social Development, the Department of Justice, the Department of Correctional Services and the Department of Health manned information booths.
