Thulani “Mathousand” Sikhundla (40) appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday April 9, facing two murder charges of a woman (40) and her daughter (23) in Matsulu on April 2.
The accused was arrested on Monday April 8 in Barberton after the Mpumalanga SAPS launched a manhunt for him as a suspect in the murders.
The case was postponed to April 17 and he remains in custody.
According to a Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the police believed the murders were committed by a very close to the family prior to the manhunt for Sikhundla.
