Drug dealer in Bethal sentenced to 13 years imprisonment

The drug dealer was arrested during an operation.

The Hawks’ provincial head, Major General Zodwa Mokoena, welcomed the sentence of a drug dealer.
She hailed the investigation team for commendable efforts and further applauded the collaboration with police counterparts in ensuring that criminals were brought to book.
The acclamation followed the arrest of a criminal group during the Dream On project in Bethal between June 2021 and July 2022.
The members of the syndicate, Okereke Valentine Okwudiri (36), Kadima Remy (30), Male Mokoko (34), Mukembani Justin Kasindo (35), Rudi Angle Kishuka (25), Bongiwe Malingela (42), David Enewere (35) and Hassanda Kaluwe (32), appeared in the Bethal Regional Court on Monday, December 5.

The court sentenced one of them, Rudi Angle Kishuka (25) to 13 years imprisonment for dealing in and possession of drugs. The sentence was suspended to five years. She was further declared unfit to possess firearm and the drugs were forfeited to the state.
The case against the other accused was postponed to March 3, 2023 for trial and they remain in custody.
