Miss Teen Pienaar wears her crown with pride

Andiswa Nhlana, Miss Teen Pienaar 2022, said she wants to be young leader that takes care of her community.

The 17-year-old model and aspiring motivational speaker, Andiswa Nhlana, said she wants to be a leader that is accountable and responsible.

She said she uses pageants to encourage girls to be positive about life.

“I love interacting with my peers and to teach others about life. It is important that we groom each other as young girls to be better leaders in the future,” said the Miss Teen Pienaar 2022.

“We live in a world that is filled with toxicity and negativity. My generation are the society that changes the negative to the positive. I believe instilling confidence, good values and morals to young people can change the world,” she said.

Andiswa entered Miss Teen Pienaar without thinking that she would be crowned. “It was my first beauty pageant. I was just looking for something that will channel my mind to do something positive and will mold me into a morally good girl. Through God’s grace I became number one. Since my crowning I have managed to impart that knowledge I have gained to my peers.”

The Grade 12 learner at Mandlesive Secondary School said she is currently raising funds to provide winter clothes to underprivileged children in Pienaar.

“I love giving back to my community and I hope I will be able to put smiles on the faces of the kids this coming winter. This will also be a way to show my appreciation for the support my community has showed me since I was crowned last year.”
