Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane advised all the Grade 12s to focus and avoid distractions in order to be successful in these crucial examinations.
There are 68 681 full-time candidates in total in Mpumalanga registered to write the National Senior Certificate examinations, which commenced on Monday October 30.
On Thursday October 26, Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane undertook a Grade 12 learners support visit at Sibusisiwe Secondary School in Nkululeko Circuit in the City of Mbombela Local Municipality.

The aim was to motivate the learners as they go into writing their final exams. Sibusisiwe Secondary School has an enrolment of 265 Grade 12 learners and has projected a pass rate of 90% this time around.
During the visit, Mtshweni-Tsipane reminded the Class of 2023 that the whole province of Mpumalanga is fully behind them.

“As you prepare for the most important period of your academic journey, you must remember how long it has been. Remember you are here on merits. You must not even consider participating in cheating or any unbecoming behaviour. By participating in these exams, you have bound yourself as a learner to a corrupt-free examination period. This means that you will not take any unauthorised material into our examination facilities. You will not take any electronic devices such as your cellphone and unlawfully obtain or disseminate examination-related material, such as question papers and marking memorandums. This message goes to our teachers as well. Let us be vigilant at all times,” she said.
