MEC for social development visits Kopanang Secondary School in Ackerville

This visit is part of the department's efforts to monitor the first day of schools reopening for the 2024 academic year.

The MEC for social development, Lindiwe Ntshalintshali, visited Kopanang Secondary School in Ackerville in the eMalahleni Local Municipality on Wednesday January 17.
The aim of this visit was to monitor the schools’ readiness for the 2024 academic year and its progress as far as learner education and infrastructure development are concerned.

During the visit, Ntshalintshali motivated the learners to take their studies seriously. “I warn you against the use of substances and teenage pregnancy.”

Meanwhile, the MEC for education, Bonakele Majuba, accompanied by deputy minister of basic education, Dr Reginah Mhaule, the provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela, and other officials visited Moduping Secondary School in the Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.
The delegation engaged with stakeholders regarding the recent crime incidents targeting the schools in the area.
