Police seek two men reported missing near KwaMhlanga

One of the men was last seen on Christmas Day, while the other was last seen on January 10.

The Tweefontein police near KwaMhlanga urge members of the public to assist them in reuniting Jabulani Mahlangu (54) and Michael Mawenzi (29) with their families.

According to a provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, Mahlangu was last seen by his brother, who resides with him, on January 10 at about 08:00. “His brother indicated that they were together at their place of residence when Mahlangu headed the cattle to the grazing field. He never returned home since then. A massive search was conducted around the nearby surroundings, with the help of some other family members and friends, with no luck,” Mdhluli said.

Mahlangu was last seen wearing a navy blue long-sleeve T-shirt and a grey pair of trousers on the day of his disappearance.

Mawenzi, who is from Lydenburg/Mashishing, is said to have visited Tweefontein along with his mother on Christmas Day at about 10:00. He reportedly went missing from the yard about two hours after their arrival.

“Further information indicated that it was the first time that Mawenzi had visited Tweefontein. He was last seen wearing a yellow T-shirt, a yellow pair of trousers and brown sneakers.”
