Matsulu’s own Afropop star spreads hope with new EP

Philile Nancy Mhlongo, stage name “Miss Pee”, started singing when she was 12 years old and hopes to collaborate with big artists in the future.

A much-loved local Afropop and amapiano musician has released an EP titled Beketela.

Philile Nancy Mhlongo, stage name “Miss Pee”, said her favourite song on it is also titled “Beketela”, and the song gives a message of hope to anyone who is going through a difficult situation: they must not give up.

She started singing when she was 12 years old and was inspired by her uncle, Marcus Gee.

In January 2021, she was signed by the record label, Millar, that is based in Pretoria. This record label has helped her grow in the music industry.

In August 2022, she won the Mpumalanga Music Award for best newcomer. She said her dream is to own a record label one day and to empower young stars from underprivileged communities.

“I want to do more collaborations with big artists and perform around the world.” Mhlongo said her music can be found on all digital platforms.
