Malalane swimmers awarded for exceptional performances

Nelspruit Swimming Academy Development honoured members of the club in the Malalane during its annual general meeting.

Malalane swimmers were celebrated during a special awards ceremony hosted by the NSAD Swimming at Laerskool Malelane on Wednesday evening, July 17.

The awards ceremony was hosted after the annual general meeting (AGM) that evening.

“We had our annual AGM to present our financial statements. The awards were given to the swimmers who excelled within their age groups, and some awards were measured based on the performances in the galas we’ve hosted. Others were given based on the coaches’ reviews,” said NSAD’s president, Brigitte Radley.

Coach George Thabethe hands the personality of the year award to Steven Cochran.

She said the growth of the swimmers, especially in the learn-to-swim programme, was commendable.

“We get a lot of positive feedback from parents, especially those whose children are at the beginner’s stage. Tonight we not only celebrate the swimmers, but also those who have helped bring the club to where it is today. There are people who have always been there to lend a helping hand where necessary without flinching, and we appreciate that. The goal is to keep children and adults water-safe, and eventually have them advance to competitive swimming,” she said.

Parents attend the award ceremony.
