Mpumalanga matric exams 2024 well into third week
This update by the Mpumalanga Department of Education follows a storm that had damaged some school structures.
As the 2024 Grade 12 National Senior Certificate exams enter their third week, the Mpumalanga Department of Education (DoE) has encouraged all candidates to remain focused and to continue to study hard.
This after some recent storms in which some schools’ structures were damaged. At the time, the DoE’s spokesperson, Gerald Sambo, indicated that the exams had been progressing well and that the candidates were demonstrating remarkable resilience.

“As part of the departmental risk management plan, the affected schools did their best to ensure a seamless exam experience for their candidates by using alternative venues, including local churches and other schools. We were encouraged by the positive spirit displayed by our learners during our visits to various examination centres. Their commitment gives us hope that they will achieve success and make their parents and the province proud,” said the MEC for education, Cathy Dlamini.
She urged all teachers, parents and communities to continue to offer their support to the learners throughout the exam period. She further called on all stakeholders, including learners, to refrain from any actions that could compromise the credibility and integrity of these exams.
