Community movement donates 50 pairs of school shoes in KaNyamazane

Some pupils of Thandulwazi Primary School in KaNyamazane received donated school shoes to help improve their attendance.

As a way of giving back to the community, the KaNyamazane Community Game Changers Movement donated 50 pairs of school shoes to pupils at Thandulwazi Primary on Tuesday, March 25.

The pupils and teachers were over-whelmed with joy as many of the youngsters did not have schools shoes, and wore worn-out sandals, while others went to school barefoot.

The founder of the movement, Nkosana Nyoni, said he hopes the initiative will assist the learners to perform better in their schoolwork.

“We aim to help eradicate some of the hardships faced by most families in the community, which is undeveloped with high rates of unemployment and poverty. Many of the kids come from elderly and child-headed households and the level of poverty is disheartening. We love to see the children equal to one another,” Nyoni said.

“This is a selfless act that we want to do on a regular basis seeing as it has brought happiness and comfort to many pupils. It takes a village to raise a child,” he added.
