Security cluster conduct dagga busts in Pienaar schools

Intense searches were conducted at three schools.

Pupils who were found with dagga assisted the local police in nabbing two suspects who sold the substance to youngsters.

This is after the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison and SAPS, in collaboration with the Department of Education and the Department of Correctional Services, made an unexpected visit to three Pienaar schools on Thursday, May 22.

Members of Mpumalanga DCSSL, SAPS and various department officials.

The dagga, along with weapons and other contraband, were confiscated when the pupils of Bonginhlanhla Secondary, Hillaria Mthethwa Secondary and Sicelalwati Combined schools were searched.

The visit was supported by other departments, including the Department of Social Development, Ehlanzeni District Municipality, the City of Mbombela, the local community policing forum and the South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence.
