Public Order Police opened Matsulu road
Residents from several areas around Matsulu including Gugulethu, Moyeni, Mkhwakhweni had this afternoon barricaded the entrance to Matsulu during a protest action.
They demanded water supply as they allege they had been without water for almost a month now.
“We had previously engaged the municipality and the water supplier Silulumanzi on our plight but still we are without water. Hence we started the protest to the Silulumanzi offices this morning and decided to take it further to the entrance of this location,” said Welcome Nkosi, a resident.

Police from the Public Order Policing Unit responded promptly to the scene. “The road is now open and things are back to normal. The protesters had been dispensed,” concluded Lt Col Bushi Ndlovu.
