Needle-sharp provincial jab roll-out continues
Malamule said other sector departments to get the vaccine are the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Justice, the National Prosecuting Authority and public agencies

As of July 20, 290 815 people in Mpumalanga had received their vaccines. A total of 1 590 deaths, 104 608 recoveries and 725 new cases were recorded.
This is according to the spokesperson for the Department of Health, Dumisani Malamule.The roll-out of Johnson & Johnson (J&J) and Pfizer vaccinations is currently under way at various sites in and around the province. J&J is administered in a single dose. Pfizer is administered in two doses.
This week, the Department of Social Development and the Department of Correctional Services joined the sectors in Mpumalanga receiving their vaccinations.

Public groups currently allowed to receive the vaccine are ages 60 and above, and 50- to 59-year-olds. Health workers, educators and their support staff, the SAPS, taxi drivers and vendors at taxi ranks are some of the sectors currently being vaccinated, too.
According to Malamule, as of July 20, about 895 social development staff members, 420 66 educators and education employees and 3 780 SAPS employees had received the vaccine.
On Monday, 244 inmates at the Barberton Maximum Correctional had gotten it, too.Last Thursday, the Mpumalanga Department of Education announced the completion of its vaccine roll-out programme. The programme commenced on June 23 and proceeded until July 14.
The MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, launched the registration for 35- to 49-year-olds in the electronic vaccination data system (EVDS) on July 15 at the eMalahleni taxi rank. Manzini also monitored the roll-out at the taxi rank in the City of Mbombela last Friday.
Malamule said other sector departments to get the vaccine are the Department of Home Affairs, the Department of Justice, the National Prosecuting Authority and public agencies.
“We are also awaiting directives from national as to which next sectors will be added,” he said.
The province administers vaccines at the following six sites: Rob Ferreira Hospital, Shongwe, Ermelo, Bethal, Middelburg and eMalahleni, including old-age homes and outreach points within the catchment areas. department’s Facebook page.
