The close-knit community of Turfwood Place in Havenside in Chatsworth, KZN, was left shaken after a man, believed to have been in his 20s, was killed in an attempted home invasion this morning.

Rising Sun reports that ALS Paramedics responded to the scene, where initial reports indicated that multiple people had been shot, just after 05:00.

When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found that a man had been rushed to hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, he passed away before he arrived at the hospital, due to extensive injuries sustained.

“The man’s parents, who were also present when the incident occurred, were severely traumatised and suffered medical conditions as a result of the incident. They were stabilised at the scene by ALS Paramedics before being transported to a nearby hospital.”

The events leading up to the shooting are not clear at this stage, however, police will be conducting an investigation.
