Kidnapped Pietermaritzburg men’s case linked to multi-million rand inheritance

A mother of one of the victims claims the suspects were after the deceased estate of a young woman who died last year.

The investigation into the kidnapping of six Pietermaritzburg men and their rescue one week later has taken a dramatic twist, with the mother of one of the victims suspecting that the suspects were after millions of rands left in the deceased estate of a young woman who died of poisoning last year.

On Good Friday (March 29) six men aged between 26 and 28 were apparently lured from a local gaming and betting facility.

When the men exited the facility they were accosted by a larger group of suspects who abducted them and drove off with them to Durban, according to the mother one of the victims. They were found more than a week later.
