EMMARENTIA – Joburg hosts three international sensations at Vodacom In The City.

The 2015 Vodacom In The City concert took place at Johannesburg Botanical Garden, Emmarentia, on 4 October. The concert was studded with stars form overseas as it featured international bands: Milky Chance, The Cat Empire and The Kooks.

The day was well attended as concertgoers flooded in to take their chance to see the popular acts from all over the world.

The line-up also included South African acts, Grassy Spark, P.H.fat and Al Bairre. The stage was then relinquished to the exuberant sound of The Cat Empire, an Australian ska and jazz band. German-based, Milky Chance performed their trademark brand of electronic folk to the eager crowd before making way for the headline act: The Kooks, an extremely accomplished British rock and pop band.

Picnic baskets and umbrellas filled the slope in front of the stage as the weather held out for the day.

Donald Charles Barclay, one of the concertgoers, stated that he had traveled all the way from Botswana to attend the concert. Local, Lianne McCaffery, said, “We loved P.H.fat and we’re loving the vibe.”
