Charity for animals too
Nursery school donates dog food to animal rescue shelter.
Wishing Wells Nursery School collected and donated dog food to Woodrock Animal Rescue in the spirit of Madiba Day on 18 July.
The dog food was donated by parents and pupils. Woodrock, based in Hennops River Valley is a non – profit, pro-life, rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing facility.
School prinicpal Sandra Brodie said, “This year we decided to support an animal charity and Woodrock is a great cause. We collected blankets, dry dog food and canned food.”
One of the founders of Woodrock Estelle Meldau said, “This donation will go along way and we really appreciate it. We have numerous animals at our facility which are looking for forever homes. At the moment our most urgent case is of two older Maltese poodles. We are urgently looking for someone to adopt both dogs.”
The Woodrock team also hosted a presentation on how to care for pets to the children at the school.
