Critically Queer exhibition at UJ
AUCKLAND PARK - Make your way to UJ's FADA gallery to join in the #THATSOGAY festivities.

THE UJ FADA Gallery will be hosting the Critically Queer exhibition from 10 to 17 September, at Bunting Road Campus.
According to Jabulani Chen Pereira, who will be curating the exhibition, the title carries a revolutionised term that is being embraced by people who have been labelled queer. “This exhibition is titled Critically Queer for the mere reason that over time those shamed and violated by such attacks have re-apropriated this term to the point of affirming a sexual identity with all its entitled human elements.”
The exhibition combines various genres of art to showcase different elements of queerness in relation to the human anatomy, including identities, desire and sexuality as well as rebellious visual expressions that counter what is considered normal.
Critically Queer is part of the #THATSOGAY Festival, with contributions by Neo Musangi, Kelebogile Ntladi, Dean Hutton, Selogadi Mampane, Ayanda Msiza and Jabulani Chen Pereira.
The exhibition will be held at UJ Bunting Road Campus on the following dates and times:
10 September: 18:30
11-17 September: 10:00 (14 September has a 10:00 and 15:00 exhibition)
