Dan Patlansky will be the support act for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band when they perform at the FNB Stadium on 1 February 2014.
In little over a decade, Dan Patlansky has become one of the most respected Blues artists to emerge from South Africa. His critically-acclaimed debut album, Standing at the Station earned Patlansky a reputation as a Blues phenomenon and culminated in a Readers Choice award as Best South African Blues Guitarist.
In 2006 Fender Guitars offered Patlansky an endorsement deal, making him one of only six Fender-endorsed guitarists in the country. His second album, True Blues was released on the prestigious Blue Note label, a feat few South African artists have achieved.
Patlansky subsequently released three more albums; Real, Move My Soul and 20 Stones, which was nominated by readers of Blues Rock Review in the USA as the 10th best album of that year. His first acoustic album, Wooden Thoughts, was released in early 2013 and received widespread praise.
Having sold 65 million albums in the USA and over 120 million albums worldwide, Bruce Springsteen has won numerous awards including 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes and an Academy Award. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999 and Rolling Stone Magazine ranked Born To Run and Thunder Road in its top 500 greatest songs of all time.
One of the biggest touring artists in the world, Bruce Springsteen’s recording career spans more than thirty years. Fans will have the chance to hear many of his hits with a two and half hour live music show, a first for South Africa.
