Feet 4 Feat get inked

GREENSIDE- Long distance walkers foot it to tattoo shop for commemorative ink.

Who said tattoos are only for the young and carefree?

The guys of Feet 4 Feat stepped into Golden Tiki Tattoo’s recently and challenged this perception by getting inked by the Greenside tattooists.

Feet 4 Feat is a group of friends who set out to walk across South Africa from Cape Town on 1 March this year on what they call the impossible adventure. They walk to raise funds for Dreamchasers, rhino protection and in honour of Nelson Mandela.

“We walk around the country in order to experience the fullness of authentic adventure and to challenge our own minds and limiting beliefs,” says the group’s website.

“We do so in honour of Nelson Mandela, who through his efforts taught the world that when you dare to try to do things differently, you can change the world for somebody.

For some in the group, it was their first tattoo. Though daunting, it was well worth it to commemorate their long walk across the country.

While in Johannesburg, the group presented a flag to Madiba’s grandson Mbuso Mandela, signed by people they’ve met along the way, with the promise that it would be given to the former president along with their messages.
