Pravin Gordhan and UJ academics talk 20 years of democracy
Finance minister Pravin Gordhan will engage in a conversation with academics of the University of Johannesburg on 20 years of democracy.
The discussion, entitled 20 Years of Democracy, will reflect on the gains South Africa made, the constraints as well as challenges the country faces.
These topics and other hard-hitting questions will be tackled during the panel discussion at UJ Kingsway campus’ Library Auditorium at 6pm on 16 April.
“Steven Friedman, professor and director of the Centre for the Study of Democracy at UJ, will join Gordhan as one of the panellists for the discussion, which will be facilitated by Professor Tinyiko Maluleke, deputy vice-chancellor for Internationalisation, Advancement and Students Affairs at UJ,” UJ strategic communication’s Gugulethu Segwabanyane said.
The event will be hosted by UJ’s Department of Politics in partnership with the university’s Transformation Unit and the Library Information Centre.
