Another suspect arrested in Westbury toddler shooting
WESTBURY - A second suspect will appear in the Sophiatown Magistrates' Court in connection with the Westbury shooting.
A 28-year old man was arrested in connection with the shooting of toddler Luke Tibbetts (3) this morning, Sophiatown Police spokesperson TJ de Bruyn confirmed.
The toddler was caught in gun-crossfire in Westbury on 2 August and sustained a head wound which has left brain-damaged and fighting for his life at the Netcare Garden City Hospital. 26-year old Keenan Mokwenan was also injured during the shoot-out.
A third man also allegedly injured during the shoot-out, has been arrested. He will appear in the Sophiatown Magistrates’ Court on 7 August.
“The man may be charged with attempted murder,” Officer de Bruyn said.
Police are investigating.
