The Go Green Club from Abbotts College Northcliff spent 67 minutes on 25 July to clean up the area around Home Affairs in Randburg.

Before the pupils stepped in to pick up and remove a bakkie load of litter, the area resembled a rubbish dump with plastic bags, cans, decaying animal remains, old newspapers and old building material in the parking lot and inside the Home Affairs premises.

The Go Green Club consists of 28 Grade 10, 11 and 12 pupils who, together with Principal JC Engelbrecht and coordinator Nicol Du Plooy, reach out to the Northcliff and Randburg communities to make a real difference and improve the quality of the local environment.

Details: Abbotts College Northcliff 011 478 1192.
