Award winning group in Northcliff

NORTHCLIFF- Cape Town based awards winning Christian group recently launched an album at Church Alive in Northcliff.

South African Music Award- (Sama) winning Christian rock group Proxy recently launched their 10th album, Faithful to Finish, and Church Alive in Northcliff proudly hosted the Johannesburg stretch of their tour this September.

“It was an honour to host Proxy,” said Church Alive Senior Pastor Johan Minnaar.

“They really have a heart for worshiping God with excellence that is not fake. They also inspired our worship team, and planted a greater hunger for God in our congregation,” he added.

The auditorium was packed as young and old from across the city sang and danced to the upbeat tunes from the Cape Town-based band. A few hours prior to the album launch, worship teams from churches around Gauteng participated in a music workshop hosted by Proxy at the church. Ideas were shared in order to help equip worship teams to better serve their churches.

“Proxy are so professional in their approach to their music. My son attended the drumming-master class, and he was blown away by the level of skill shown by their drummer Brent Blake. I think it’s great that these South African musicians are also investing in the future of our young South African aspiring artists’ development, by arranging the training sessions on a Saturday morning. We also loved the Saturday evening session, which had such energy and a great vibe,”said Debbie Minnaar.

Jessica Sparks also enjoyed the concert saying,” The Proxy concert was truly inspiring – what a great opportunity for young people in our community to come and find a place where they can express themselves creatively.”

Jo Steyn, on the other hand, said, “Proxy created a space where young and old could feel liberated in their worship. They gave us an injection and encouraged our musicians to keep striving for greater.”
