Curator of the gallery Carol Lee was very impressed with the support from the community and with the quality of work produced for the event.
“It went extraordinarily well. We had a wonderful turn-out and response from the public. I am very happy with work produced by the numerous artists involved. I really like every piece that has been chosen for the exhibit and I believe they carry a level of merit to them” she said.
Lee went on to explain that the event showcased a host of different art mediums ranging from paintings to sculptures. All of these different mediums embodied one central theme, a sense of unified locale.
“There was definitely a sense of locale in the works produced throughout the different art mediums. The Local/Locale exhibition has provided a sympathetic platform for new artists as well as reaffirming the talents of established ones,” she explained.
The gallery will be running up until 15 March and can then be visited daily between 10am and 3.30pm.
