Northcliff Youth Soccer Club is a soccer initiative looking to empower and groom soccer players.

Tribunal also highlighted that the club gives soccer-mad youngsters of all ability levels the chance to learn to play.

“I was a professional player from DR Congo and since I came to South Africa, all I wanted to do was to teach soccer lovers skills that I have acquired,” he said.

Tribunal blithely added, “I also live around the area and I realised that there is nothing in the area that challenges kids to get active so I decided to start the club.”

Volunteer for the club Leone Russon said, “I enjoy helping out with the club, we don’t have a stadium or stands to sit on during training but it is worth it to see kids learning and enjoying soccer – and we hope that more parents can get involved in the initiative.

“We want to get the kids motivated and inspired by soccer. We do this voluntarily, we are busy as well but we have time to be there for our youngsters.”
