UPDATE: Cresta bomb scare a hoax

CRESTA - Bomb threat email turns out false.

The bomb threat at Cresta Shopping Centre on 21 May has been confirmed as a hoax.

“After two hours of searching no suspicious package was found,” said Linden Police spokesperson Captain Alex Vermaark.

He explained that the threat was received by Cresta management via email.

“We mobilised immediately, searched the place and asked the tenants to search their places,” said Vermaak.

After no bomb was found Linden Police opened a case of bomb threat.

“It is illegal to threaten in this manner… individuals who contemplate this type of behaviour will face the full force of the law.”

Vermaak could not say how many suspects there were behind the bomb threat.
