Bogus police rob family at gun point

EMMARENTIA – Parkview Police open investigation into bogus cops.

Six men posing as cops robbed two Emmarentia residents at gunpoint on 30 May. Parkview Police spokesperson Sergeant Lloyd Ramovha explained that six armed suspects driving in two vehicles, a black Audi and Blue Golf 7, wearing what appeared to be police reflector jackets, forced the victims’ vehicle to stop.

The men threatened the residents with firearms, and handcuffed them before bundling them into the back seat of the Audi. “They then proceeded to the victims’ residence where they ransacked the house, subsequently making off with several valuables, including Kruger coins valued at an undisclosed amount. We appeal to anyone who might have information that could help us in apprehending the perpetrators to come forward,” he said.

The robbery is alleged to have taken place at a property in Mazoe Road, just before 2pm.

Sgt Ramovha urged residents be vigilant at all times. “One can never be too careful when it comes to safety. If you suspect you are being followed, call the police or your security provider as many of them have a home escort service as an added benefit to their clients,” he said.

Sgt Ramovha concluded that a case of a house robbery is currently under investigation by Parkview Police.

No arrests have been made by the police as yet.
